Our School Resource Officer interacts on a regular basis with children from the Elkins public schools. The SRO administers training courses, which introduce the children to state and federal laws, drug and alcohol prevention and violence prevention to give them a clear view of the criminal justice system.

The SRO program has been ongoing since 2007 with excellent results. The attitude of the children in our jurisdiction has changed phenomenally over the years and they now see the police officers as their friends
